Animal Welfare Programme

Caring for the Voiceless, Strengthening Communities

Govardhan Go Shala, Ahmedpur, has been actively implementing various animal welfare initiatives to protect and support animals in need. As part of our commitment, we organized major welfare programs at Ekurga, Tq. & Dist. Latur, on 11th June 2022, focusing on immediate and long-term care for animals, especially in drought-affected regions.
The success of these programs lies in the dedication of our volunteers, veterinary experts, and local villagers who come together with a shared goal — to give animals the care and dignity they deserve. Through collaborative efforts, we have not only provided medical aid and nutrition but also educated the public about the ethical treatment of animals and their role in maintaining ecological balance.

Our Key Activities:

  • Supplying water and fodder to animals in drought-hit areas
  • Setting up temporary shelter houses for displaced or abandoned animals
  • Conducting awareness campaigns to prevent cruelty against animals
  • Organizing health development programs and wellness competitions for animals
  • Hosting animal check-up and treatment camps
  • Running immunization programs to safeguard animal health
  • Supporting welfare initiatives for stray and neglected animals
Looking ahead, Govardhan Go Shala is committed to scaling up its animal welfare outreach by establishing more mobile health units, permanent shelter facilities, and educational drives in remote villages of Maharashtra. We envision a future where no animal suffers due to neglect or lack of resources — a future where every being is respected, protected, and nurtured.
These programs have been a significant step toward ensuring the well-being of animals who often suffer silently.

Over 234 men and women from the local village and surrounding areas actively participated in this initiative, reflecting the strong community support for our cause.

At Govardhan Go Shala, we believe that animal welfare is not just a duty — it’s a responsibility that defines a compassionate society.
