Animal Health Check-Up Camps

The Govardhan Go Shala Ahmedpur, Tq. Ahmedpur, Dist. Latur, conducted a comprehensive Animal Health Check-Up Camp on 27.12.2022 at Ekurga, Tq. & Dist. Latur. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about animal health and welfare, emphasizing the importance of compassion and proper medical care for domestic animals. The camp provided a platform for community members to understand that animals, being voiceless and innocent, deserve love, care, and timely treatment—especially when injured or unwell.
During the camp, the procedures for treating injured animals were explained. These included administering pain relief, dressing wounds, performing surgeries if needed, and ultimately rehabilitating and rehoming animals post-recovery. A key message shared during the camp was the moral responsibility of animal owners to seek medical attention for their animals just as they would for a family member.

The event was organized with outreach efforts, including sending invitations and notices to villages within a 5 km radius of the Go Shala. As a result, the camp witnessed a significant turnout: 248 animals—including cows, buffaloes, bullocks, and other domestic livestock—were examined and treated by experienced veterinary professionals. In addition, 278 animal guardians and animal lovers from surrounding villages participated, actively engaging with the program and expressing appreciation for the knowledge and services provided. The camp was successful in fostering a stronger bond between humans and animals while promoting proactive animal healthcare in the rural community.
